Is Crumpler close to a deal with Seattle?

Is former Atlanta Falcons tight end, Alge Crumpler close to a deal with the Seattle Seahawks? All depends which newspaper report you want to believe. Lets first start with the facts. Crumpler was with his agent, James Williams, in Seattle today. Crumpler did take a physical. The two sides did discuss money and what it would be like for Crumpler to play for the Seahawks.

Seattle Hackett heads to free agency.

Looks like there is no doubt that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DJ Hackett becomes an unrestricted free agent Friday. And its pretty likely that he won't be playing in Seattle next season. Hackett's agent Kevin Robinson and Seahawks GM Tim Ruskell had a meeting recently at the NFL Scouting Combine which didn't go to well. Free agent Alge Crumpler plans to meet with around 7 teams at next weeks NFL Draft Combine. "My agent was getting so many phone calls that I thought it would easier just to go there and meet with everybody," Crumpler said by phone from Phoenix, where he has been working out, just before catching a flight to Indy. Colts likely out of Crumpler race.

It looks like the Indianapolis Colts are now out of the Alge Crumpler race. Yesterday, the team placed the franchise tag on Dallas Clark. And today, they followed that up by signing him to a long term deal. Clark signed a 6-year contract, monetary terms weren't disclosed. The deal does give the Colts some mobility now when it comes to the salary cap.
