McNabb benched by shoulder
June 10, 2008
So just a few days ago, I wrote about Donovan McNabb and how the Philadelphia Eagles could already be without their star player. Lots of people took offense to this article, actually wait no, a lot of Eagles fans took offense. The consensus thought was that I was implying McNabb would be out for a while, when really at the time it was a minor injury. The point of that article thou was to ask questions about why the team was being so secretive and that the main thing was to keep an eye on this. Here we are almost one week later and McNabb is now completely shut down with a case of shoulder tendinitis. Still not a major injury, but bears watching. Read more
Eagles make a minor trade
June 6, 2008
June 1st has come and gone, with the Philadelphia Eagles making no trades. Well, only a few days after that date the Eagles do indeed make a trade, with the Indianapolis Colts. Unfortunately for Eagles fans, the deal does not address their wide receiver situation, or Lito Sheppard. Instead this trade adds more depth to their fullback position. Who’d they acquire? Luke Lawton. Read more
Could Eagles be McNabb-less already?
June 5, 2008
We all know for the Philadelphia Eagles to have a legitimate chance at a Super Bowl, rests in the arm of #5 Donovan McNabb. The team needs him to be healthy and performing at a high level, not the guy who was injured for a good portion of the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Well, according to a teammate, McNabb may already be suffering from an ailing shoulder. Coach Andy Reid denies all, McNabb is silent, so whats going on? Read more
Eagles Ikegwuonu trial set for July 14th
May 24, 2008
The trial date is set for Philadelphia Eagles rookie Jack Ikegwuonu, it will take place July 14th. For those who don’t remember, Ikegwuonu is the corner back from Wisconsin whose stuck plummeted big time because of his burglary arrest and torn acl injury. We first wrote about the arrest, you can find the details here. While waiting for the trial to take place, Ikegwuonu has been at the Eagles’ NovaCare Complex with the rest of the rookies learning the team’s system. Let’s take a look at both topics. Read more
Browns getting desperate at corner
May 21, 2008
The one thing the Cleveland Browns did not do during their off-season spending spree was address positional depth. The Browns were pretty weak at corner back after trading Leigh Bodden to the Detroit Lions for defensive lineman Shaun Rogers. So initially that left a starting position open, that was going to come down to a battle between Daven Holly and Brandon McDonald. Well good drawn out plans, tend to fall apart at times and in the NFL that is usually due to the dreaded torn knee ligament. During today’s practice Browns CB Daven Holly did just that. Holly suffered ligament and cartilage damage while jumping to break up a pass to Braylon Edwards, he is now most likely done for the entire 2008 season. Where do the Browns go to replace him? Eagles Ikegwuonu plea deal, NULL AND VOID!
April 27, 2008
Newly drafted CB Jack Ikegwuonu will now face charges due to a stolen X-Box. The Philadelphia Eagles must be thrilled about this. He originally agreed to a plea deal before the draft to avoid the NFL Personal Conduct Policy. The problem? WKOW-TV in Wisconsin is reporting that his brother refused to accept the same deal. So that means Jack’s deal is now NULL AND VOID!
Ikegwunou is now due in an Illinois court room on July 10th. He’s facing one felony count, which could possibly disrupt his NFL career. In addition, he’s now likely to face penalties under the Personal Conduct Policy. He did all that he could to get a deal arranged before draft day, and now thanks to his brother he’s subject to the policy. Just goes to show your past, can always effect your future.
This might wind up a great 4th round pick for the Philadelphia Eagles. (sarcasm people, sarcasm)
