Injuries around baseball
Written by Paul Raymond in Sunday, March 23rd 2008
As spring training ends, injuries tally up and some stars wind up missing opening day. Here's a run down of some of the more notable injuries this past weekend.
Detroit Tigers - OF Curtis Granderson - What was originally believed to be just a bruise on his right hand, he wound up breaking his middle finger. Technically he has a non-displaced fracture of the metacarpal at the base of the middle finger. This [+]
Tigers Granderson sent for xrays
Written by Paul Raymond in Saturday, March 22nd 2008
Detroit Tigers center fielder Curtis Granderson was sent for precautionary x-rays today after being hit by a pitch. Granderson was hit by a Travis Blackley pitch on his right hand during today's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Granderson did stay in the game after being hit, but shortly after being plunked the game was called due to rain. He thinks he could of continued thou even if the rains had not [+]
Tigers rumblings.
Written by Paul Raymond in Friday, March 21st 2008
Here are some tidbits on the Detroit Tigers.
The rotation is set. Your front free are obviously Justin Verlander, Kenny Rogers and Jeremy Bonderman. After the game Inge ripped into the decision to have him catch. "Catching absolutely 100 percent reinforces that third base is my all-time love," Inge said. "That's not even a question." [+]
Inge trade talks involving the Dodgers
Written by Paul Raymond in Saturday, March 1st 2008
It looks like the Detroit Tigers may have finally found a market for third baseman Brandon Inge. The Los Angeles Dodgers recently contacted the Tigers about acquiring the third baseman but talks have not really progressed, at this point. Dodgers manager Joe Torre and third base coach Larry Bowa are very fond of Inge and would love to have him stabilize their hot corner. Inge also wants out of Detroit now that Miguel [+]
Leyland sets Tigers rotation for season.
Written by Paul Raymond in Friday, February 29th 2008
The Detroit Tigers are ahead of the ball as manager Jim Leyland announced his starting rotation. Opening day without a doubt is Justin Verlander with Jeremy Bonderman starting in game two. The surprise comes after that, many would think newly acquired Dontrelle Willis would follow as the teams #3 starter. NOPE! Kenny Rogers will be taking that role, with Willis or Nate Robertson following. Whichever doesn't start then would obviously [+]More From NFL
