A look into the surprising Pudge deal
Written by Paul Raymond in Wednesday, July 30th 2008
While at work today, I received a text message saying the New York Yankees made a deal to acquire Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez. I must say this was a complete shock to me and I was immediately filled with joy. The other names out there would not have been much of an upgrade over our current catching duo, but this, this is definitely an upgrade. Initially I thought we probably gave up [+]
New option at short for the Dodgers?
Written by Paul Raymond in Tuesday, July 29th 2008
Today's Newark Star-Ledger talked about the Los Angeles Dodgers and their frantic search for a short stop, there is one name on that list thou that is very, and I mean VERY surprising. That name is Michael Young of the Texas Rangers. Now why is this surprising? Well, during spring training Young signed a 5-year contract extension with the team. Mind you the deal was above what he serves, to the tune [+]

Ibanez doesn't completely fit the teams need as they need a right-handed hitter, but still they see him as the best fit out of all options.
Ken Davidoff of Newsday.com says that despite reports [+]

It looks like the Minnesota Twins are finally going to call up youngster Francisco Liriano. Liriano has been virtually lights out over his past giving up just one earned run in his last five starts, a stretch of 35 innings. Even so, the team has been balking at the idea of bringing him back. Not because he isn't ready but they believe they have five very capable starting pitchers in the majors. [+]More From NFL
