No surpise here. Only surprise to me is that the Baltimore Orioles didn't till Major League Baseball made a decision on the new drug rules. It was inevitable that Gibbons would be cut, the question was just when. Doing so before Opening Day means the Orioles do not have to carry him on their roster. Kansas City Royals Jose Guillen and Baltimore Orioles Jay Gibbons both had their suspensions pushed back. There's not much yet released on what this could include other then making the testing tougher and strengthen the authority of the independent program administrator.
