Orioles release Gibbons
Written by Paul Raymond in Sunday, March 30th 2008
No surpise here. Only surprise to me is that the Baltimore Orioles didn't till Major League Baseball made a decision on the new drug rules. It was inevitable that Gibbons would be cut, the question was just when. Doing so before Opening Day means the Orioles do not have to carry him on their roster. Instead, the 25th man will be Scott Moore a much more useful guy off the bench.

MLB drug suspensions delayed
Written by Paul Raymond in Friday, March 28th 2008
Kansas City Royals Jose Guillen and Baltimore Orioles Jay Gibbons both had their suspensions pushed back. As the commissioner's office and player's union get closer to a deal it was decided that these suspensions would be pushed back 10 days. If the negotiations reach a stand still within those times, you can look for both players to have to serve 15 games. If a deal is reached on a new drug agreement, OR [+]

Written by Paul Raymond in Thursday, March 27th 2008
Major League Baseball and the players union are getting closer to stricter drug policies. Baltimore Orioles - Brian Roberts. Roberts missed today's game due to a sore back. This may lead some to believe that a trade may have been completed or on the verge but that's not the case. He's expected to miss the [+]
Orioles in talks with Lohse
Written by Paul Raymond in Sunday, March 9th 2008
The Baltimore Orioles have had discussions with the agent for Kyle Lohse in recent days. Lohse's agent is Scott Boras, so that would explain why he is still on the free agent market. Boras and his client were originally looking for a 5-year deal worth around $50 million. Obviously with the season close to starting his asking price has dropped significantly.
The Orioles have yet to make an offer to the 29-year old [+]
Mets brass torn on Lohse
Written by Paul Raymond in Friday, February 29th 2008
The New York Mets are still toying around with the idea of Kyle Lohse, but upper management is quite divided on if they should go that route or not. According to Ken Rosenthal's latest article there are pretty much two different takes on Lohse.
Some believe that Lohse could be a valuable commodity as insurance for the oft injured, oft ineffective Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez.
Others in the organization feel he'd be a waste after [+]More From NFL
