Mets rotation woes continue
Written by Paul Raymond in Tuesday, April 15th 2008
No surprise here, New York Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez had his return to the bigs pushed back even longer. The initial prognosis of 4-6 weeks for a mild strain of a hamstring is turning out to be pretty bad. The new timetable calls for late may - early June. which would mean 6 - 10 weeks, pretty long for a strain I would think. "We're definitely going to be more conservative with him," [+]
Mets expected to sign Vargas
Written by Paul Raymond in Wednesday, April 9th 2008
The New York Mets look like they may have begun to address the injury problems that are already striking their starting rotation. The team is on the verge of signing free-agent Claudio Vargas to a AAA minor league deal. According to Vargas agent, Bean Stringfellow, there were four teams showing interest in him and that the Mets are the favorite. I'm not sure how believable that statement actually is thou.

Sprain can’t stop Rollins
Written by Paul Raymond in Tuesday, April 8th 2008
The Philadelphia Phillies were the team to beat last year, and Jimmy Rollins says they are this year. And you know what, if the New York Mets couldn't beat them last year, he sure as hell isn't letting a sprained ankle beat him. For those who don't know by now, Rollins sprained his ankle today in the 8th inning against the Mets. The injury took place as he scrambled back to second [+]

A rain out changed the Atlanta Braves rotation for the weekend but injuries have went an changed them again. The Braves initial plans were for John Smoltz to come of the DL and start Sundays finale verse the New York Mets. After Fridays rain out the team said they would keep the rotation in tact and not make any changes. That means Tom Glavine would start Sunday, with Smoltz pushed back [+]
Pedro the gimp
Written by Paul Raymond in Tuesday, April 1st 2008
First start of the season and New York Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez is already hurt. Pedro was getting rocked as it was giving up 4 runs in 3 and 1/3 of an inning mainly throwing nothing but his stellar 85-89 mph fastball. Two of which were taken out of the park by the Florida Marlins hitters. Now to the injury.
It's officially being reported as a strained right hamstring but its [+]
Mets roster moves
Written by Paul Raymond in Thursday, March 27th 2008
The New York Mets made a couple roster moves today, the surprising one is the placing of 2B Ruben Gotay on waivers. Gotay just recently rejoined the lineup after suffering a sprained ankle during camp. Unfortunately for him, Fernando Tatis has the front offices support for the final role on the bench. This morning it actually looked like the Mets may place Gotay on the disabled list just to keep him [+]Search For Post
