Cowboys expect Elliott to play but not Lee
The Dallas Cowboys are battling the injury bug in a big way before an upcoming road contest against the Houston Texans. The two players most affected are the two players the Cowboys can least afford to lose, Sean Lee and Ezekiel Elliott.
Lee already missed last weeks game against the Detroit Lions and it seems that owner Jerry Jones isn’t expecting him back any time soon. The only saving grace for the Cowboys is that they now have a deeper defensive unit. They also have a rookie in Leighton Vander Esch that can step in and be somewhat competitive.
Jerry Jones injury updates: Jeff Heath (stinger) is "likely to play" Sunday vs. Houston.
Jones: "It would surprise me to see Sean (Lee) back this week."

The injury that can really hurt this week though is on the offensive side of the ball. Elliott was an absolute workhorse last week but walked away from the game pretty banged up. Zeke was noticeably limping throughout the game and is battling some knee and ankle issues. At the moment the injuries appear to be minor as Jones fully expects Zeke to be on the field.
Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said Ezekiel Elliott (knee, ankle) will be good to go for Sunday night's game against the Texans

I’d expect Zeke to be a full go for Sunday but get some “maintenance days” at practice this week. The Cowboys will need another big game from him if they want to beat their state rivals.
