Eagles to sign Miles Austin?
Has desperation set in for Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly? Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweeted today that Miles Austin will be visiting the Birds and sign a deal if he passes a physical.
The #Eagles will sign WR Miles Austin when he visits this week, source said, assuming all goes well with the physical.

I’m sure I’m not the only one this morning that was quite surprised by the news. Austin hasn’t had a productive season since 2012. On top of that, Austin hasn’t played all 16 games since 2010. The move reeks of desperation but in all honesty it really isn’t.
The move is really aimed at creating depth at one of the teams weakest and thinnest positions. At the moment the Eagles receiving corps is Riley Cooper, Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff which is nothing to right home about, even in Chip’s system.
Receiver looks like it will be a position the Eagles target in the draft, possibly heavily. With that in mind the signing of Austin would give them some valuable veteran depth. A guy that knows the league but at the same time can help mentor the youngsters that Chip brings aboard.
I wonder how much DeMarco Murray vouched for his former Cowboys’ teammate?
