Tanaka to make debut on March 12th?
One of the biggest questions surrounding the New York Yankees is whether or not Masahiro Tanaka’s elbow will hold up. He’s been throwing with the team for a bit now and prior to and during Spring Training there hasn’t been a bad report yet.
All we keep hearing is that his elbow is feeling fine. Throwing is one thing but how will it hold up in game situations? It looks like that situation will finally arise next week on March 12th.
Source says Tanaka will probably start against Braves 3/12 here at George M. Steinbrenner Field; remains to be confirmed

While his debut date is unconfirmed the date does sound about right. Tanaka threw a 30 pitch bullpen session on Wednesday so it’s likely that the Yankees would want him to throw one more before then.
I’m greatly anticipating that start, I’m one that’s very worried that his elbow won’t hold up and indeed need Tommy John surgery. So it would be good to see how his elbow holds up in it’s first real test.
