Teddy Bridgewater is “fine”
Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater missed last Thursday’s game because of a sprained ankle. He’s said all along that if that game was on Sunday he would have played. It wasn’t so Christian Ponder started and the Vikings got smoked. This week the Vikings won’t have that problem as head coach Mike Zimmer said Bridgewater is “fine”.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said after last Thursday’s loss to the Packers that the team expected to have quarterback Teddy Bridgewater back in the starting lineup and Tuesday brought no reason to think that plan has changed.
Bridgewater took part in the team’s practice and various media members reported that he showed no signs of ongoing issues with the ankle injury that kept him out against Green Bay. After the practice concluded, Zimmer said the team wouldn’t be talking about injuries although he did say that the quarterback was “fine” before moving on to other topics. (ProFootballTalk)
The Vikings opponent is the Detroit Lions this week so it will be a tough game in his return. Well normally it would be a tough game but the Lions are a prime candidate to be upset. There’s a strong possibility they’ll be without three of their top four weapons this weekend, including Calvin Johnson.
