Lucas Duda home burglarized during road trip?

Lucas Duda had a very good start to his season while on the road with the New York Mets. Unfortunately things were a lot different for him when he returned home and I don’t mean on the field. The New York Daily News reports today that Duda has filed a complaint with NYPD for items missing from his apartment.

Lucas Duda, the Mets’ power-hitting first baseman, returned home from a recent road trip to find some of his possessions were missing after a moving company hired by the ballclub transferred his belongings to a new apartment, NYPD sources told the Daily News on Monday.

Duda filed a complaint with the NYPD on Saturday, the sources said.

Duda, 28, left town with the team on April 6, and gave the moving company access to his old pad on 153rd St. in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, sources said.

He returned home to his new apartment on April 17 and found his front door open and several of his items missing, the sources said. (New York Daily News )

The question you probably have is what’s missing. Duda told police that about $1,600 worth of material was taken, they included a checkbook, two jackets, a bracelet and get this a knock off watch.

The slugger was missing a checkbook, a knock-off Breitling watch, two jackets and a bracelet, the sources said, noting the total value of the items was about $1,600(New York Daily News )

I know he’s only making $1.6 million this year but damn Lucas you couldn’t afford a real Breitling watch? Cheaper Breitling watches can range from $3,000 to $10,000 an amount I’m quite sure he can afford. Then again maybe this is the reason he went with a knock off. I don’t know but it’s kind of funny he’s buying things on the cheap.

On another note his numbers have slid since returning to CitiField and in by no way are connected to the incident. He’s just not that good.
