Reggie Wayne ahead of schedule in rehab
When Reggie Wayne tore his ACL back in October there was plenty of doubt in my head on whether or not he’d return the Indianapolis Colts. I mean he is 35 years old after all and that’s a major injury, especially for a wide receiver. Well today Wayne was on 1260 WNDE and said that he’s ahead of schedule and should be cleared for football activities by the end of the month.
Wayne on rehab: “I should be cleared for football activity on the 25th (six months since injury). I’m way ahead of schedule. I feel great.”

It’s pretty impressive when any player is cleared for football activities just six months after suffering an ACL injury, let alone a player who is his age. If things continue to progress at this rate there is no doubt he’d be ready for training camp. You’d likely see him on the field for the Colts opener as well.
The good thing for the Colts and Wayne is there no need to force him back into action after the addition of Hakeem Nicks. If there’s any doubt in their mind about Wayne’s healthy they can start him out on the Physically Unable to Perform list for the first couple weeks. Honestly though at this rate it doesn’t look like that will happen.
If Wayne is 100% and full go in training camp this Colts offense has the opportunity to be explosive right out of the gate.
Here’s Wayne’s entire interview with 1260 WNDE for your listening pleasure.
