Gallinari out for the season

Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari underwent reconstructive ACL surgery today and will miss the rest of the NBA season. In fact, he’ll miss the entire season as he hasn’t step foot on a court yet. Gallinari underwent a procedure on his knee back in June to “promote healing” in his at the time partially torn ACL. That obviously didn’t work which caused him to undergo the bigger procedure today.

Due to the late surgery I wonder if Gallinari will even be able to start the 2014/2015 NBA season. Two surgeries on his ACL now means a very long recovery road ahead. It’s good news for Wilson Chandler as he’ll continue being the Nuggets starting small forward.
