Nyjer Morgan back in the MLB

It appears Nyjer Morgan’s attempt to return to Major League Baseball will end up being successful. After not finding a major league offer in 2013, Morgan headed to Japan and was mildly impressive hitting .294 with 11 homers and 50 runs batted in, but only three steals. Over the last couple weeks he’s been contacting MLB teams and wasn’t having any bites, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN that’s changed.

I’m not sure which team is willing to take a chance on him, it must be someone that’s pretty desperate for depth. His last appearance in the majors was with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2012 and that didn’t end well. His average was a paltry .239 and he only had 12 successful steals on his 17 attempts. On top of that he was his normal clubhouse distracting self.

So what team is this mystery team that is willing to take a chance on him? I have no clue but whatever team it is I hope their fan base enjoys fireworks. I would tend to think he’d be a nice fit in Philly with all the f-bombs he dropped when his team made the playoffs, it would go nice with Chase Utley and his “World Phucking Champs”. But hey whomever gets him hope you enjoy things like this.
