Derrick Rose knee “feels great”

Chicago Bulls fans are going to be pretty happy with the latest Derrick Rose news after what happened last season. Rose did play in Saturday nights preseason game and played quite well scoring 13 points in 20 minutes. What will get them excited is whats happened since then and that is nothing. Nothing as in no setbacks and Rose telling the media that his knee “feels great”.

As a matter of fact, Rose continued to show absolutely no setbacks with his surgically-repaired knee after playing in his first preseason game Saturday night.

“It feels great,’’ Rose said Monday of his comeback so far this season. “I’ve been missing the game for a long time. Just being back on the floor with my teammates and just feeling healthy.’’

Basically, words that allow Thibodeau to move on to the next step in Rose’s return.

“The big thing is last year he practiced from the second half of the season, so we saw that part,’’ Thibodeau said. “And now the next step is obviously the games, and preseason games are obviously different than regular-season games. But just the speed and the explosion are back. Attacking on both ends. And then to see how he responds the next day, to get used to the grind of an NBA season, so that’s the next challenge.’’ (Chicago Sun-Times)

This is great news as everyone said Rose was very aggressive during the contest and looked a lot like his old self. Hopefully that continues and if it does then you can expect Rose to be as good as he ever was.

Will it be enough to make Bulls fans forget last year? Not early on but if they start the season hot they’ll quickly forget.
