Sixers to keep Noel involved

Philadelphia 76ers rookie Nerlens Noel won’t play for the team till December but they’re not letting him off easily. A report today says that the team plans on keeping him very involved till he’s ready. So that means no rehabbing on the side and being around the team when you’re not.

The franchise decided that it’s important to keep the 19-year-old involved with team activities while he rehabilitates his left knee.

“I look forward to him traveling with the team,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said, “and being a part of the team and being in the team meetings and video sessions and seeing a grumpy coach and a sad player and vice versa.” (Philly.com)

Personally, I think it’s a great decision by the Sixers. With Noel being a rookie they can’t let him rehab on the side and join them later. They do that he’ll still be a lost rookie not knowing the rigors of NBA life off of the court. Being in team meetings and having travels will help him be more prepared for when he is ready to play and hopefully then he can just focus about his game on the court.
