Lions searching for a wide receiver

The Detroit Lions have become pretty desperate at wide receiver after Nate Burleson broke his arm last night. The Lions have a few options to replace Burleson, mainly Ryan Broyles and Patrick Edwards, but there are doubts about both of their healths. That has the Lions scouring the trade market looking for a viable replacement.

Luckily for the Lions there are a few wide receivers on the trade market that actually have some talent. We’ve already heard that the Cleveland Browns have been actively shopping Josh Gordon. Kenny Britt of the Tennessee Titans is also rumored to be on the market after his fall out with the coaching staff and management.

In my opinion, Gordon is the most attractive but the question is how much are the Lions willing to give up for him. The combination of Gordon and Calvin Johnson with Reggie Bush in the backfield could be pretty deadly.

Gordon is such a dangerous deep threat that he could help open the field up more for Megatron. And if he doesn’t? Well Gordon will be open downfield waiting for the bomb. That’s be a sick combo.

While the Lions search for reinforcements they’ve announced that Broyles will play the slot, which if healthy is a great spot for him. If Edwards ankle is healthy he’d likely fill the other outside spot in three wide receiver sets.
