Le’Veon Bell could practice this week

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Le’Veon Bell has been ruled out of Sundays season opener but head coach Mike Tomlin says that he could participate in practice this week. That’s pretty impressive as just a few weeks ago it was thought he’d miss significant time with a Lisfranc injury, which turned out to be just a sprained ankle. If Bell does indeed practice this week I’d say it’s safe to assume he’ll be the Steelers starting back in week two.

So now for that season opener who is going to replace Bell? There’s been a lot of different rumors over the weekend one that said Felix Jones could take the role. That led to a lot of jokes from me since he was on the verge of being cut by the Eagles. From the start I said I can’t see that happening if Isaac Redman is healthy.

Guess what? He is and will start the opener. Jones will get plenty of action though as Redman’s backup and in the return game.
