Bargnani expected to be ready for Knicks camp
Even though Andrea Bargnani will be missing the European Championships he’s expected to be ready for the start of New York Knicks training camp, at least according to one of his Italian coaches. Bargnani is still in Rome sucking down some serious antibiotics as he tries to get healthy from pneumonia or whatever it is he’s fighting. The good news is doctors have said the infection is starting to subside, finally.
Bargnani had hoped to parlay his work with the Italian Team in the championships into a fast start when Knicks training camp opens Oct. 1. But he lasted 10 days and is back home in Rome, downing high-grade antibiotics, still unable to work out.
Nobody knows how Bargnani caught the infection, and Fioretti said they don’t believe it’s pneumonia.
“I know he feels better, so I can’t imagine him not being ready for October,’’ Fioretti said. (New York Post)
Bargnani may be ready for camp but I’m worried about what shape he’ll be in. Andrea has been battling whatever is for a few weeks now which has left him unable to workout.
With that being the case will he actually be ready to go when camp starts? Hopefully these antibiotics hurry up and do their job that way he has a few weeks to workout.
