Moustakas in a walking boot as precaution

Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas left Monday’s game early with tightness in his left calf and hasn’t played since. This morning he was seen walking around with a boot but the team has said that was just a precaution to relieve pressure. I’m kind of skeptical about that as Ned Yost has said Moustakas won’t play till this weekend and even that’s just a possibility.

I don’t know why but I got a feeling that Sunday or Monday we’ll be hearing that Moustakas is going on the disabled list retroactive till Monday. Personally, I think the Royals shouldn’t waste anytime and put Mike on the D.L. now.

They’re in the heart of a pennant race and they’ll need him healthy for the stretch run. At the same time they can’t afford to slip up at all and should get a healthy body on the team that can help while he heals.

Remember the team has a big series with the Detroit Tigers this weekend, a good showing their and they could even be back in the divisional race.
