Eddie Lacy to get bulk of carries

Despite the rumors about him being overweight and the injury concerns it looks like Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy will start and get the bulk of the carries this season. Lacy has the most talent out of every back on the roster and outperformed them in camp as well. His size should also allow him to be a huge weapon at the goal line.

Overview: Franklin hasn’t shown any “wow” factor yet. He has been adequate, not special, as a pass blocker. He’s tough and quick, but has struggled making headway between the tackles partially due to size.

The assumption is that Franklin, as a fourth-round pick, has the team made. But Lacy figures to get most of the carries, Harris pass-protected almost as well as he rushed in 2012 and Starks has enjoyed an injury-free, competitive camp. (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel)

I’m pretty excited to see what Lacy can do in the Packers high powered offense. The Packers offense has been pretty damn good over the past couple years but was always better when they had a solid running back. Lacy should give the Packers something they haven’t had since Ryan Grant which will only make that offense more potent.
