Keith Urban to kick off the NFL season
The fans of the Baltimore Ravens got screwed and won’t see their city host the NFL season opener. The NFL tried to throw them a bone though as the “NFL Kickoff 2013 Presented by Pepsi” concert will still be hosted in the Inner Harbor. Keith Urban will be performing from a floating stage starting at 7:30 pm and leading all the way up to kickoff. Floating stage? Pretty cool idea in my book.
Baltimore won’t get to host the Sept. 5 NFL regular-season opener but it will get Keith Urban.
The Grammy-winning country music star will perform in a live, free concert in the Inner Harbor on Thursday Sept. 5 as a lead-in to the Ravens’ game in Denver against the Broncos that night at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Urban will sing from a floating stage in the Inner Harbor in an area adjacent to the Maryland Science Center as part of NBC’s “NFL Kickoff 2013 Presented by Pepsi” pregame show. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and go all the way up to the 8:30 p.m. kickoff time. (The Baltimore Sun)
This isn’t Urban’s first time performing in the kickoff concert either. In 2008 he performed with Natasha Bedingfield and Usher before the New York Giants and Washington Redskins game.
