Tampa loses Pro-Bowler

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a huge loss tonight as Pro Bowl guard Davin Joseph went down with a knee injury. There’s no official word on the injury yet but word from the locker room is that the injury is season ending. He’ll undergo further tests before the team officially announces what the injury is and how long he’ll be out.

Bucs Pro Bowl right guard Davin Joseph left tonight’s preseason game against the Patriots with a knee injury that, based on early word from the locker room, will likely be season-ending.

The play happened late in the second quarter when left tackle Donald Penn lost his leverage against a Patriots defender and pushed him to prevent him from getting to quarterback Josh Freeman. But Penn unwittingly pushed the defender right into Joseph’s planted leg, causing Joseph to immediately collapse in pain and grab his throbbing knee. (Tampa Bay Times)

This would be a huge blow to the Bucs as the offensive line was supposed to be the teams strength. Ted Larsen will take over for Joseph.
