Matt Ryan now a caddie
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has a new job this spring. A job that has nothing to do with football. Matt was at Augusta National Course today and was the personal caddie for Stewart Cink in the Par-3 Contest.
“He reached out to me and asked if I would be willing to do it,” Ryan said. ” I said ‘Are you crazy? Would I be willing to do it? Of course I’ll do it.’” (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
Can’t blame Ryan for jumping on the opportunity as he’s played the Augusta National course before but this was his first time there for the Masters. Cink even let him take a tee shot for him. “I hit a 52[-degree wedge] about 160 yards,” Ryan said. “I hit it way too far to the right. Luckily he still let me putt it and I got to redeem myself. I made the putt.”
Having Ryan as his new caddie was a big change for Cink as he usually has his kids carry his bags on the contest.
“Normally my kids caddie,” Cink said. “I thought it would be fun to change it up. I know Matt from home at the golf course [TPC Sugarloaf]. We see each other all the time and have played together once or twice. He’s a good guy to be around and I thought it would be fun. I also thought he would enjoy getting inside the ropes and seeing the crowds.”(Atlanta Journal Constitution)
