After a year away from the game it looks like Randy Moss might have no shortage of interested teams. Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports reports that the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles are “curious” and that the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots may also be interested.
Yes, the New England Patriots could use Moss in a serious way. In addition, according to a source close to Moss, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets are at least curious and the San Francisco 49ers could look to fill a hole if they let go of Josh Morgan in free agency. A source with one of those teams conveyed via text it would be “intriguing” to see what Moss has left in the tank after a year away from the game. (Yahoo Sports)
I’m actually quite impressed by this. Randy didn’t play at all in 2011 but yet has contenders lining up for his services. That tells me one thing, they all are believing his own hype that he’s still got it. Although at 35 I doubt he can still run that 4.3 second 40-yard dash like he claims.
“I got something on my shoulder and it’s a chip that I need to get it off,” Moss said.
“Am I better deep threat than Calvin Johnson? I don’t know,” Moss said. “That’s going to be interesting to see this year.”
At this point I don’t know if he’s a better deep threat than Calvin but I’m sure he can still be a legitimate threat. And all those teams must think it’s possible if they’re showing interest in him.
