Raheem Morris Has Options

The talk of the day has been former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris taking a position with the Washington Redskins. He dined with members of the organization today and looks like he could get the teams defensive backs coaching job. From the sounds of things it sounded like a done deal, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN that might not be the case.

@mortreport: Vikings will interview Raheem Morris for possible high-level defensive coaching position after meeting w Redskins re: DB job #ESPN #NFL32

In my mind that’s a pretty big interview for someone who was just fired. One team is thinking of him as just a DB’s coach while another thinks he can fill an important role with the team. It could be thanks to his former work with Tony Dungy.

Morris and Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier both come from the Dungy coaching tree. So what’s that mean? They should have similar styles and think the same way. I could see him also being the teams assistant head coach, in addition to the defensive coordinator.
