Peyton Hillis – Game Time Decision

It appears that Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis may be making a surprise appearance on the field Sunday. Earlier in the week head coach Pat Shurmur ruled Hillis out for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. After practicing the last two days that has changed.

Coach Pat Shurmur had ruled Hillis out on Monday for Sunday’s game in Cincinnati, but a Browns spokesman said that can change.

After practice on Thursday, Shurmur said in a statement, “Peyton Hillis went through a rigorous workout afterwards and performed extremely well. He is making progress and may be limited in practice on Friday.” (Mary Kay Cabot – Cleveland Plains Dealer)

If Hillis were to return that would be a huge boost to the Browns offense. Should Peyton return he won’t be rushed back into action. Cabot sent out a tweet today (in addition to the blog post) that explained how things would go.

@MaryKayCabot: #browns hc shurmur said if Hillis is available he’ll play but might not start. Hardesty is ready to roll too. Neither will have full load.

For you fantasy buffs, I wouldn’t rush to put Hillis back in your lineup. If he indeed plays it will probably take a week or two for him to get back to full speed, especially after limited practice time.
