Another great week of NFL action, I know it sounds like a broken record but we really have had an outstanding four weeks to begin the season. Unfortunately we’re already at the time of the year where the bye weeks start to kick in so we’ll be down a few games for a couple weeks. We’ll just jump right into the rankings today.
1. Green Bay Packers
2. New Orleans Saints
3. New England Patriots
4. Detroit Lions
5. Baltimore Ravens
6. San Diego Chargers
7. Buffalo Bills
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9. Houston Texans
10. Pittsburgh Steelers
11. New York Giants
12. Washington Redskins
13. New York Jets
14. Tennessee Titans
15. Dallas Cowboys
16. Atlanta Falcons
17. San Francisco 49ers
18. Philadelphia Eagles
19. Chicago Bears
20. Oakland Raiders
21. Cleveland Browns
22. Arizona Cardinals
23. Carolina Panthers
24. Cincinnati Bengals
25. Seattle Seahawks
26. Jacksonville Jaguars
27. Denver Broncos
28. Indianapolis Colts
29. Miami Dolphins
30. Kansas City Chiefs
31. St. Louis Rams
32. Minnesota Vikings
- The Packers all I can say is pretty much the same thing every week and that is that they are that damn good. Can anyone beat this team?
- A big surprise to me is the only other undefeated team in the league is the Detroit Lions, who also look like they are that damn good. I didn’t put them at #2 yet because I still really like the Saints and Patriots. If they beat Chicago this week they’ll get the #2 spot.
- Buffalo probably dropped a little less then they actually should have in this weeks rankings. They lost to the Bengals and it was a bad loss. If you want to be in the upper echelon of the league you can’t hold a 17-3 at the half and lose to a team that starts a rookie quarterback.
- The Eagles took a major drop, they’re down to #18 now and they’re close to dropping to the bottom third of the league. They’ve blown three straight fourth quarter leads and injuries are starting to occur to key guys. Even the coach is starting to get testy as Andy Reid had a nice verbal sparring with a local talk radio host.
- The Giants and Redskins are atop the NFC East, who would have expected that? They’ve had different paths, the ‘Skins are a team that’s overachieving. In my opinion, their struggles with the Rams are a sign of things to come. While the Giants have been decimated by injuries but keep finding ways to win. Once they get healthy they could be dangerous.
- Minnesota comes up last in this weeks rankings since the Chiefs finally won a game.
- Kansas City stayed below two winless teams (the Colts and Dolphins) as I really think they are the worst team in the league.
- The Jets are another team that took a big drop as they looked like absolute shit against the Ravens on Sunday night. They’ve got a lot to work on with that offense, can they get it fixed?
I’ve got many more thoughts but we’re going to leave it at this for now.
