Seattle Out Of Kolb Sweepstakes

My first thought after hearing that the Seattle Seahawks came to terms with Tavaris Jackson was what does this mean for Kevin Kolb? Are the ‘Hawks out of the Kolb sweepstakes or will there be a massive QB competition between them two and Charlie Whitehurst. My thoughts were that they were pulling themselves from the Kevin Kolb talks and it appears that’s correct. NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora is reporting that they’re out.

@JasonLaCanfora: As I reported a while back, SEA was high on Tarvaris Jackson. He will sign there. Matt Leinart likely, too. Seahawks out of Kolb sweepstakes

So there will be a QB competition just not involving Kolb. It actually makes perfect sense as reports had the Philadelphia Eagles demanding at least a first round draft pick. Seattle just can’t afford that especially after flipping second rounders and giving up a third last year for a QB.

The Tavaris signing and news of a probable Leinart season would put the Arizona Cardinals back in the drivers seat for Kolb. On one hand I would think this damages the Eagles and how much the Birds could get in return but the other hand slaps that thinking away. This is the Eagles they’ll have their cake and eat it too, meaning they’ll trade Kolb and get the haul they wanted.

Question is how long till Kolb is able to officially start throwing passes to Larry Fitzgerld?
