The Real Housewives of the NFL

Over the past week all that’s been talked about is what we all will do without football if the NFL and players can’t come to agreement. We’ve talked about what will the players do, how will they pay their bills? What hasn’t been talked about is what the wives and girlfriends of these guys would do if the paychecks aren’t coming in. And you know what, a good question is, what will those ladies do?

We all know these guys have married models, gold diggers and college sweethearts. The bigger name players have the models, while the lesser known have minor models or their college girls. So yea, some of these ladies rely on those paychecks they got to keep up their affluent lifestyles. This got me thinking.

The Bravo Network has a hit reality show, The Real Housewives of….. This show has spawned many spinoffs, it feels like every year they add another city to the list. Well it’s time to take that one step further.

It’s time for The Real Housewives of the NFL. This show would show how these ladies are dealing with the lockout and lack of checks but at the same time give them an opportunity to make some money of their own.

I’ve scoured the internet, looking at the multiple WAG posts that have flooded sites like YardBarker and I’ve come up with what I think is a good cast. This cast includes girlfriends, wives and flings. The ladies have dated well known players and lesser known players. Some are former athletes themselves, some are models and others are just girls met along the way.

More importantly they all have sex appeal, which we know is a must! Below is your cast of eight for The Real Housewives of the NFL with pictures showing off their well, umm assets.

First off, we’ll go with Kelli Croyle. She’s the wife of Kansas City Chief’s QB Brodie Croyle. He’s been in the league for a few years but is pretty much nobody in the grand scheme of things and will be a free agent once the lockout ends. One thing we can all agree upon is he hasn’t made much money in his career.

So why should Kelli be on the show? Well first, she was the winner of the 2005 America’s Junior Miss competition. More importantly, she gained her 15 minutes of fame on HBO’s Hard Knocks when she wore a certain brown sweater. Take a look at those pictures and some others and you’ll see she has something that goes with the show; Cosmetic work.

Next, we’ve got 2009, 2010 and 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Hilary Rhoda. Remember, in the real show not all of the ladies are married so I’ve decided to make a couple selections based on girls that have dated NFL players. Rhoda isn’t currently involved with any NFL player (that we know of) but she did date New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez. Hilary’s ties to the New York City area are the main reason she’s included. She’s reportedly been around the block with New York athletes and prominent business men, which could lead to a good friendship with our next cast member.

Traci Johnson. Johnson is currently the girlfriend of former New York Giants RB Tiki Barber. She’s one that could really add some life to this show. Johnson’s claim to fame is being the former NBC Intern whom Tiki had an affair with, thus resulting in a divorce from his wife of 11 years. She could really make the perfect enemy on the show; wouldn’t all the girls be worried of her taking their man????

Speaking of drama, we’ve got Carrie Prejean, the disgraced former Miss California Winner. What you didn’t know she had ties to the NFL? Carrie is married to Oakland Raiders QB Kyle Boller, who right before the lockout resigned for $1.25 million. A decent amount of money, but with the amount of work it looks like she’s had done she’ll need more for the upkeep.

The cosmetic work isn’t why I chose her thou. Personally, I think her views on life could clash with other cast members and therefore make the show very interesting.

One of those could be former Baylor track member, Rachel Glandorf. After growing up in Arizona and going to school in the Texas area, she might have some of those Midwestern values which could lead to some clashes between her and Carrie. Then again, I could be totally wrong.

Rachel is currently married to Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy. While Colt is a starter and I think he’ll be a very good one, he’s currently not well paid. That’s the result of being a third round pick, so my thinking is someone in the family has got to make some bank. This would be the perfect opportunity for her to do so.

Speaking of opportunity, this could be just that for Mercedes Lindsay. Lindsay was Miss DC of 2007 and currently dates Jason Campbell of the Oakland Raiders. Other then that Lindsay has lived a relatively normal lifestyle if she has ambitions of modeling or acting thou this could be the good opportunity to get her start.

Now that I think about it I wonder if she and Carrie are friends. They both do date Oakland QB’s. Hmmm could be another rivalry.

Next up, we’re adding some international flavor to the mix with the 2005 Hooters Miss International, Anna Burns. Anna currently dates New England Patriots star WR Wes Welker so there is definitely no need for money. I really just wanted to add another hot model to the mix that could provide some spice.

Last but not least is the star of the show. That’s right this version of the Real Housewives needs a star. Out of all the NFL WAG’s there is one true reality star, she’s consistently on the cover of tabloids. Have you guessed who it is yet?

Kendra Wilkinson.

Kendra in my opinion would be perfect for a show like this. She’s so well known that she’ll instantly bring in the TV ratings, especially the coveted guy demographic. After her Playboy Photos, time with Hugh Hefner and her sex tape most guys will turn in to see what she does and says. We all know she’s a wild thing; it’s probably why her husband Hank Baskett married her.

Plus, what guy wouldn’t turn in just knowing that she plays well, very well, with other females, something that “The Girls Next Door” taught us all.

There you go that’s my cast of the Real Housewives of the NFL. It’s a cast that I think will bring in viewers and keep most of our attention. It’s also the first version of Housewives that will also keep the guys tuned in. More importantly it will keep checks coming in for some of those out of work NFL players.
