Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks Rumors

So Chris Sheridan of ESPN mentioned yesterday that the New York Knicks were making progress on a deal involving Carmelo Anthony with the Denver Nuggets. My first thought was really? Before reading the article I wonder if there was actually new news on the topic or was this the Tracy McGrady thing from the past couple seasons all over again?

Well after reading the post, I have to say the post was nothing new. It was basically the same old rehashed stuff with one little twist. That twist was including the name of Danilo Gallinari. Yep, that’s the only change, the report says “New York has softened its stance on including forward Danilo Gallinari in a trade.” Outside of that it was the usual, the Knicks are trying to center a package around Eddy Curry, Anthony Randolph and a first round pick that would need to be acquired.

The sad part is this rehashing of old news has caused a fire storm across the blogosphere and twitter again. Fans of both organizations are scouring the internet looking for more details. I hate to tell you guys but there are no more details, the old details are the current details.

This is soooo reminding me of McGrady fiasco where every couple weeks a new post would drop linking him to the Knicks. It eventually happened but for months there was never anything new, just another writer keeping the possibility out in the open. I have a strong feeling this will now happen all year with Carmelo and New York.

I’ll say to my Knicks fans, I want Melo to be a Knick but let’s not jump all over every post about him, especially ones like Chris Sheridan’s that offer nothing new or concrete.

Chris did a great job keeping Melo’s name out there with his post and we all bought it, hook line and sinker.
