Durant Signs Extension

In a very under the radar move, the Oklahoma City Thunder signed star forward Kevin Durant to a five year extension. The talk of today was Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh joining the Miami Heat but then out of no where this news broke and you got to love how it did. Not ESPN, not Yahoo, not Fox Sports but Durant broke the news via his twitter account. Got to love how twitter is taking over NBA Free Agency announcements!

@KDthunderup: Exstension for 5 more years wit the #thunder….God Is Great, me and my family came a long way…I love yall man forreal, this a blessing!

No word on the details of the contract as the Thunder can’t officially announce the signing till Thursday due to NBA rules. But like I said earlier this is a great signing for them. They keep their franchise player locked up on a young up-and-coming team.

Durant at the age of 21 was the youngest scoring champ in league history, averaging 30.2 points a game. If LeBron James joins Wade and Bosh in Miami then Durant should stay the champ for the foreseeable future, he’d even become the number one fantasy option.
