NFL Power Rankings Week 4

There’s been some more shaking up in the NFL Power Rankings for Week Four. After three weeks the picture has started to become clearer, we see which contenders are pretenders and see some teams who want to hit contender status. In addition, there are some teams starting to stand out from the pack. My Top 4 teams all did just that this week and are the head of the NFL class this season.

Here’s the rankings.

1. New Orleans Saints
2. New York Giants
3. Baltimore Ravens
4. Indianapolis Colts
5. Minnesota Vikings
6. New York Jets
7. New England Patriots
8. Philadelphia Eagles
9. San Diego Chargers
10. Dallas Cowboys
11. Atlanta Falcons
12. Chicago Bears
13. Pittsburgh Steelers
14. Green Bay Packers
15. San Francisco 49ers
16. Buffalo Bills
17. Tennessee Titans
18. Cincinnati Bengals
19. Denver Broncos
20. Arizona Cardinals
21. Miami Dolphins
22. Jacksonville Jaguars
23. Seattle Seahawks
24. Houston Texans
25. Carolina Panthers
26. Detroit Lions
27. Washington Redskins
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
29. Oakland Raiders
30. St. Louis Rams
31. Kansas City Chiefs
32. Cleveland Browns

And thoughts on the current rankings.

First, congratulations to the Detroit Lions for finally winning a game, they move up quite a few spots in the pool because the teams below them are literally that bad.

Is there any doubt that the Cleveland Browns are the worst team in the NFL? The Chiefs are trying to stake claim to that but the Browns definitely have them beat at the moment. Eric Mangini is showing that he definitely is no mangenius.

Indianapolis leapfrogs Minnesota thanks to their complete dismantling of the Arizona Cardinals. Don’t know if its really fair to drop the Vikings who won with a last second Favre touchdown BUT they did struggle against a Niners team playing without the heart of their offense.

Cincinnati is climbing up my rankings fast. I still have them middle of the pack but another win in Week 4 will have them moving into the top 15 for sure.

When it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Titans, I don’t know what to think. They have both have stand out defenses and pretty solid offenses but just can’t find a way to win. If that trend continues this week you’re going to see them both drop majorly as their playoff hopes will be very faint.
