Devin Hester Back to Old Tricks

The Chicago Bears went back to using their biggest weapon against the Denver Broncos last night. That weapon? Devin Hester returning punts. Hester had not returned a punt yet this preseason but that all changed last night.
“Coach Dave [Toub] told me I was up this week, and I just wanted to get a good feel for the return game again, a fresh start,” Hester said. “I was just hoping to get back on page with it.”
He didn’t just get back on page last night, he went back to his old ways. He nearly broke one in the second quarter, returning a punt 54 yards to the Denver 4 yard line which set up a Chicago touchdown.
While he did make the one big highlight play he did struggle as well, calling for a fair catch inside the Chicago 5. A big no no for a punt returner.
Even so, it looks like Hester is already in mid-season form when it comes to special teams.
