The Twitter Files 6/5/09

Published on June 5, 2009 by   ·   No Comments

Alright the Twitter Files were pretty well received yesterday. Soooo that mean’s I’ll keep doing them and hopefully it can pick up some more steam. If you’re new to My Sports Rumors, this is where I give some love to the people I follow on Twitter. You’ll see some of the funniest things I’ve read, some informative and just down right interesting tweets.

First up today is the master of the sports blogosphere, Jimmy Traina. For those who have no idea who Jimmy is, I’ll put it simply. Your blog hasn’t hit it big till you get a link from him. He’s the brains behind Extra Mustard’s Hot Clicks at Sports Illustrated. He has a daily post giving love to some of the best sports and chicks articles on the net. And I can tell you the blogs he links to takes off. For all the success I’ve had here we haven’t hit it big yet. And why? Cause we haven’t been linked to yet!

JimmyTraina – I don’t enjoy the NFL Game Mix channel on DirecTV. I can’t see ANYTHING. But the MLB Game Mix is one of the great inventions of my lifetime.

Next up is my man Phil and the Gunaxin crew. Him and his staff of writers have created one of the best sites for guys on the net. I remember talking to Phil when he first started blogging, when he was looking for advice from some of us and I’ll tell you he might be the quickest learner I’ve ever seen. And his tweet yesterday also shows how big Jimmy Traina is to us sports bloggers.

Gunaxin – We’re thinking @JimmyTraina will be treated like a Rock Star next week at @blogswithballs : Swarmed by blogging dorks, not women though.

The_Real_Espo – Greg is a writer and editor for Fanster.com a very popular site for anything Phoenix in the sports world.

The_Real_Espo – In the year 3000: Diamondback fans will still be waiting for team’s young talent to reach it’s potential, they will be 916 years old

binarybballBinary Basketball is a site about what else basketball. We’ve been friends on Twitter for a little but didn’t really have much conversation till last night. He arguably said the funniest thing I read last night. What made it even funnier was finding out the tweet directly relates to the troubles he’s having with his site. On the flip side it’s a good problem it means he’s getting some good traffic!

binarybball – Much like the Orlando Magic, my database is not performing as expected and is failing at an alarming rate, both probably need a kickntheass

TCMChristmas – Connor runs a sports blog They Call Me Christmas. He’s an aspiring sports writer and college athlete, how many times have we heard that one??? Just kidding with ya Connor we wish you the best. He’s included today because he said what everyone in the country knows except New York Mets fans.

TCMChristmas – Haha JJ Putz needs surgery? I guess karma caught up to him after he said ” it’s nice to be on a team that wins” uh JJ, you play for the mets

There we go that is Today’s Twitter Files, and what’s also known as Follow Friday. Here’s another tip for those of you just getting involved or thinking about Twitter. On Friday’s there is something known as Follow Friday, tags being #followfriday and #ff. What you do is list some of the people you follow that you think others should be following. It’s a great promotional opportunity for sports bloggers and people in general as it really expands your reach.
