The Twitter Files 6/4/09

The biggest craze in social media right now is Twitter. Even if you don’t twitter you at least no what it is. It’s so big that almost every news show, late night show and others promote Twitter accounts to keep in touch with on-air personalities.

To me Twitter is a great networking tool not this huge waste of time many think it is. I’d say 80+% of the people I follow are sports or media related. It lets me meet people around the country with the same interests but different takes on the sports world. It’s created some interesting debates, fun conversations and led me to some great blogs that I may have never found.

So with these “Twitter Files” I’m looking to show some love to those people I follow. Most blogs have link posts to other blogs and I’m going to take that one step further. Whenever you see a “Twitter Files” posts you’ll see a few tweets that I found either funny, really informative or just downright interesting. In addition you’ll get a little bio about the person.

Everyone I list provide some pretty useful information or they’re just cool peoples and if you’re on Twitter you should give them a follow.

TheBSShow – This is Nick Stevens from The Burly Sports Show on Heavy.com Nick is one of the funnier guys I follow on Twitter, at least a couple times a day I’ll see a tweet from him and just start cracking up. Don’t get me wrong thou he also knows his sports.

TheBSshow – How many former teammates/friends will show up to the “Randy Johnson Gets 300 Wins” party? 2? 3? And will he then punch them?

adamcbest – Adam is one of the co-founders of FanSided.com and runs numerous successful blogs. We’ve worked together before and promoted each others work. He’s an all around good guy. Definitely follow him if you’re a blogger.

adamcbest@gx5 Kobe would’ve done better with this Cavs team. Even my bro, a die-hard LeBron fan, admits Kobe is both the better closer and defender.

kennysmith – Kenny is obviously the host of kennysmith.org. There’s not much there except his bio but I will say he’s a good media mind. He’s a professor at Samford University and works with media students.

kennysmith – See the Snickers/Patrick Ewing spot? Not hard to believe Ewing’s out there wearing a generic jersey, hoping to dunk, not looking to pass.

btsteelcurtain – This is the twitter account for Behind the Steel Curtain a blog part of the SB Nation. You can take one guess to what they’re dedicated too.

btsteelcurtain@steelergurl we know why Rosenhaus thinks Skins are such a great org…. they overpay! probably thinks steelers are a bad franchise

twittsburgh – Twittsburgh is just a twitter account about everything Pittsburgh. Haven’t had any real conversations with them but have found some stuff pretty informative. This tweet from them was downright hilarious thou.

twittsburgh – Citing Pirates’ recent moves, Southwest adding more flights to MIL, STL, CIN, CHI, HOU. Ding! U R now free to be traded across the Division

Alright there we go that’s all for today, but that is some of the stuff I’ve come across on Twitter in the last 24 hours. If you’re not following any of these people make sure to go give them a follow.

Not sure if this will be daily or every couple days, all depends on how you all receive it. Let me know what you think.
