Plaxico Could Stay In New York

Plaxico Burress could be staying in the New York area after all, and we don’t mean in a jail cell. The New York Jets have finally stated publicly that they have interest in the free agent wide receiver. How much interest? All depends on his legal matters of course.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan told the NY Daily News, “We’re going to let that situation happen and then we’ll see.”

Now this of no surprise to me. We all knew there would be teams interested in Plaxico should he earn a get out of jail free card. But it is surprising to me that a team is now going public with their interest.

Personally, I think the Jets are showing the love to put themselves in the drivers seat. If they’re the only team showing interest right now wouldn’t Plaxico remember that? When it comes time to resume his career that’s something he’d remember right? I’m sure the Jets are hoping so.

The Jets need to remember one thing thou. Plaxico isn’t about the love he’s all about the MONEY.

So Jets go ahead show all the love you want but in the end Burress is going to go wherever he can get the biggest bonus.
