NFL Power Rankings and a Eagles cheerleaderA great Week 9 in the NFL. Lots of surprises again and once again the Week 9 NFL Power Rankings are all shaken up and thrown out of whack. Last week my top 5 stayed the same, well this week only the top 3 did, which is just crazy. Let’s take a look at this. Two weeks ago everyone was saying maybe the NFC East wasn’t as good as billed, maybe it wasn’t the top division in football. That was after Romo went down with an injury. That was after B-West hurt his ribs. That was after the Giants were shocked on Monday Night Football by the Browns. Well, guess what? The NFC East is still the best division in football with three teams showing up in my Top 10, and a combined record of 21-9. Let’s jump right into the rankings thou.

1. Tennessee Titans
2. NY Giants
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
4. Carolina Panthers
5. Washington Redskins
6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
7. Philadelphia Eagles
8. Arizona Cardinals
9. New England Patriots
10. Chicago Bears
11. Buffalo Bills
12. Jacksonville Jaguars
13. Dallas Cowboys
14. Green Bay Packers
15. Atlanta Falcons
16. New Orleans Saints
17. Denver Broncos
18. San Diego Chargers
19. Baltimore Ravens
20. NY Jets
21. Indianapolis Colts
22. Minnesota Vikings
23. Houston Texans
24. Miami Dolphins
25. Cleveland Browns
26. Seattle Seahawks
27. St. Louis Rams
28. Oakland Raiders
29. San Francisco 49ers
30. Kansas City Chiefs
31. Detroit Lions
32. Cincinnati Bengals

The team I’ll talk about this week are the Philadelphia Eagles. This team looks completely rejuvenated after their bye in Week 8. The Eagles took advantage of a mid-season bye in the way you should, and that is rest up and get healthy. Brian Westbrook came back looking like his old self and completely dominated the Atlanta Falcons. Donovan McNabb looked happy having just about all his offensive weapons back, which included the first appearance by their top WR Kevin Curtis. This is a team that may be in last place, but definitely not last place talent which is evident by their 4-3 record. Only in the NFC East would the last place team be plus 500 in the win column. Expect the Eagles to move up quickly. While I think a division title will be tough, watch out for them to make a deep playoff run, health permitting.

Here are my Week 8 NFL Power Rankings so you can compare the difference.

And also here are the Power Rankings from a couple of my buddies.
