Choose My Logo Contest Winners

Whew, what a contest but it looks like we’ve chosen the logo and winners from the Choose My Logo Contest! The winner received 35 of the 55 total votes. Who was the winner? Well it’s the picture you see in the left corner. The generic sports logo wound up winning with a healthy margin. The second place logo only wound up with 18 votes.

The interesting thing to me was that most sports bloggers voted for the one that focused on a player being interviewed. Where most of the other bloggers and readers chose the generic one that says to the public this is a sports site. So with that being said, yes the generic is the winner and we’ll be used on sites such as Entre Card. BUT, I’ve made the decision to use logo #2 as well. That will be used on the sport focused sites (i.e. Ball Hype and Yard Barker). Those are sites that would already know I’m a sports blogger, so this will let them know I deal with the rumors.

But enough of the logo I know what you all want to know. WHO WON THE PRIZES!!! Before I tell you those winners, I have to say another contest will begin by the end of the week, so keep an eye out. The selection process was completely random, and all voters even if your choice did not win were eligible. So lets take a look at the winners and what they got.

Third Place – Guru of My Automobile Guide. His prize was 2,000 EntreCard credits.
Second Place – Indo Contest. The prize they won was $25 via PayPal
AND YOUR FIRST PLACE WINNER! – Clarisse at Dazzling Notes. Her prize was $50 via PayPal.

I’ll admit I didn’t know what to expect from this as it was my first contest. It got a pretty good response, not as big as I wanted but good nonetheless. Overall, we received 55 votes. Being my first contest, I’ll consider this a success as numerous things happened here. 1.) Increased chatter on the comments. Over 70 comments on the Logo post, and some even gave their opinions on other articles. 2.) RSS count went up and we have some new readers, Welcome! 3.) Found some new friends in the people who decided to follow me on Twitter, Ball Hype, Yard Barker or Stumble Upon.

Ok, I said there’s another contest coming up. It should be up within the next day or two and be centered around what I do best, SPORTS! I’ll throw you a bone as to the contest. Everyone always complains about officiating in sporting contests, which was worse then the other. We’re going to attempt to solve that. Prizes for that will include gift certificates to places like NFL.com, MLB.com, so if you’re a sports fan you’ll definitely need to keep your eye out.
