Alright, hockey is a sport that I pretty much can’t stand but nonetheless I will discuss rumors about it here. I don’t do a pretty good job of it, as it gets pretty neglected but I figured today I should change that and at least give you NHL fans something to read. So here are some links in today’s edition of Power Links. We’ve got Alex Ovechkin and his new American Idol girlfriend, photos of Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell after losing his Stanley Cup bet, and we’ve also got an in depth outlook into the Pittsburgh Penguins off-season.

  • First thing I’ve got for ya is the Pittsburgh Penguins off-season outlook via PostGameHeroes.com. There’s not much really to say about it as the title explains itself. I will say thou for someone like me who doesn’t really follow hockey, it gives enough info in a way, where even I feel like I know what’s going on with the Penguins.
  • The best article of the day comes from Japers Rink. Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin showed up with a HOTTIE! to the NHL Awards this past Thursday. Her name, Elena Alyonka Larionov. The ironic thing about this is she’s the daughter of Alex’s favorite player growing up. Take a look at the article for more details. On a side note, Larionov was also made it to the Hollywood round of American Idol Season 7. If in Japers article you can’t recognize her, then check out this link to American Idol’s website.
  • Now time for the amusing article of the day. Mondesishouse has an article up showing photographs of Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell slurping down some discount cola and some Red Wings sausages while wearing a Detroit Red Wings jersey. The funniest part thou is the caption says Philadelphia Governor. All of this was obviously because the Pittsburgh Pirates lost the Stanley Cup Finals to the Detroit Red Wings.
