Battle in the Broncos backfield

As mini-camp ends for the Denver Broncos, the positional battles begin to heat up especially at the running back position. No there is no competition for the starting job, Selvin Young is pretty much locked into that position barring an injury. The real battle is taking place for his back-up, that is taking place between 2nd year back Andre Hall and the newly acquired Michael Pittman. Rookie back Ryan Torain is a distant fourth right now in the mix, which isn’t a surprise as he’s still got to prove himself. So who looks like they’re going into training camp as the #2 guy?
At the moment, the Denver Post lists hall as the back-up, and Pittman as the third string. To me this comes as a bit of surprise, as I believe Pittman is best suited for this offense. Pittman is a much more versatile back then Hall. At least, I think he is. In his rookie season, Hall only caught two passes, but one of those catches wound up being taken to the house, 65 yards downfield. Pittman thou has averaged 40+ receptions a season.
Things could change very quickly thou, as this is just a mini-camp. Personally, I think Pittman will still wind up in the main back-up role, but Hall getting a decent amount of carries himself. The player to really watch for thou would be Torain. If he develops quickly, he could change every one of the Broncos plans in their backfield.
