He was out of gas, but due to the move of Joba to the rotation, the team had no available relievers. At least no one Girardi wanted to bring in at that point. Andy wound up giving up a grand slam in an inning he shouldn't have even pitched. He should have left the game giving up 6 runs in 6 plus innings, and picking up a win. Not great, but not definately not the terrible 10 spot he was charged with. BTW, he pitched a lights out game last night. With the hot weather, he's back. Not sure about next year. He's thrown a lot of pitches in his career, and with the balky elbow, it is almost day to day. You can’t use the KC game as an example.
