Another Mulder shut down

What a surprise!! St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder has been shut down during his rehab again. A little less then two weeks ago we talked about Mulder being shut down due to a rotator cuff strain. At that time, Mulder was told to shut it down for 7-10 days and he would then be reevaluated after that period. Well, Mulder did return after that period, threw 3 bullpen sessions and has now been shut down again for 10 to 14 more days. That decision comes the day before he was scheduled to make a rehab start for AAA-Memphis.
Mulder is being shut down for what is called, “lack of range of motion in his left shoulder due to capsular irritation.” This will definitely all but eliminate the chance of him returning before July now. Just last week Mulder, said he could complete a second start before the All-Star break. Now we’ll just have to see what happens.
