TO staying put?

Terrell OwensIt’s a contract year for Terrell Owens, so it’s time to start burning bridges right? Surprisingly no! Owens has come out and said he wants to stay with the Dallas Cowboys till its time to retire. What’s made this guy so happy, that he’s willing to finally stay put in one place happily?

Well it’s the coaching staff. He’s finally bought in to what someone is selling. One of the big reasons he wants to stay put is Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett. “I was really worried (about Garrett leaving),” Owens said. “Obviously, we were coming off a year, my first year there, where we did OK statistically, but I didn’t feel like we did things offensively that we could’ve done with the weapons we had. Our record could’ve been better. We squeaked into the playoffs that first year and I knew with the playmakers we had on offense, I knew we could’ve been more explosive, more of an air-it-out attack. … And it was night and day with the production when you have a guy like Jason Garrett orchestrating the offense. He puts the ball in his playmakers’ hands.” Now that last statement sounds like the TO we know!! He’s happy because Garrett puts the ball in the hands of the playmaker! So simply put, give me the ball and I’m happy.

Owens also has love for Head Coach Wade Phillips, “Just the experience of last year that coach Wade brought in, it was refreshing, you heard it in locker room. It was like he brought life, took some Vitamin Water and poured it in the locker room and everyone was revived. We had so much fun, and that translated at game time.”

So finishing his career as a Cowboy? Yep, Owens has even begun to hint at retirement. Owens says he has about 3 to 5 seasons left in him. “I definitely want to end my career with the Dallas Cowboys, and go into the Hall of Fame as a Dallas Cowboy,” Owens said. “I’m going to let God fight this battle for me. There was a situation where the contract didn’t work out in Philly. With this, I’m going to let it play out and not try to be a distraction. I’ll let it take care of itself. I’m a firm believer that things will work out for the best.”

So it seems like T.O. is happy right now. But we all know with this guy that can change at a moments notice. Some people, especially Dallas fans, may think he’s changed after reading these quotes, but screw that he didn’t change, HE NEVER WILL! Reading into those quotes, you can tell it’s all about him. Garrett gets the ball to him! If something changes this year, and Garrett spreads the ball out more then his opinion WILL change. Well we can see him staying in Dallas, because he has owner Jerry Jones wrapped around his finger, and will get PAIDDDD regardless of what happens. We all know T.O is about the money, his stats and nothing else.
