NFL Mock Drafts
Change in trade chart, led by Eagles??

For those who have not heard, there is a group of teams looking to change the “trade chart”. And it looks to be led by the Philadelphia Eagles, whom have 11 picks and would love to package some of those picks for something better. So some may go what is the “trade chart”? Well there is a chart that assigns value to every pick in the NFL draft, the top 5 are heavily weighted then the values drop as you go down. The idea is any trade thats involving just picks, add up and equal each other.
Some teams would like to change this chart to make it more balanced, where the top 5 picks values drop some, and the mid to late first round picks go up in value some. According to profootballtalk.com the proposal can be directly linked to the Philadelphia Eagles, whom want to move up from the 19th pick.
They cite an unnamed league source, who say, “The whole thing sounds like an elaborate ruse.” This would mean the teams trying to pass this new chart, would be looking to do so, so they can specifically benefit THIS year. They even say if the values are changed, it would be quite easy for the Eagles to move into the TOP FOUR OR EVEN THE FIRST PICK!!! I can only imagine the craziness in Philadelphia amongst Eagles fans if that happens.
The question I have thou, which is also brought up in the article, if two teams feel the trade is fair, who cares about the “chart”? Make the trade and who cares what the league or any other team feels. You felt its fair, then go for it.
The real question is, if this is all true, who would the Eagles be targeting??? In my mind, it would be DE Chris Long or OT Jake Long. Tackle is a huge need for the team, and another solid defensive end with a motor like Chris’ would be an even bigger boost to the Jim Johnson blitz happy defense.
