Deuce still a Saint, for now

Running back Deuce McAllister and the New Orleans Saints reached an agreement, today. No, not a contract extension. The two sides agreed to push back the due date for McAllisters $1 million roster bonus that was due to be paid on April 15th. This is the second time this has happened.
Many expected Deuce to be cut this week because of that roster bonus. This agreement makes it almost certain that McAllister will at least start training camp with the Saints. McAllister himself has not said anything regarding this, but his “spokesman” says that he is “a New Orleans Saint for sure this season” Team officials have declined to comment.
Personally, I don’t see how the Saints can start the season with Deuce on the roster, at his current price. Who knows what deal these two have actually reached. But if all it does is move back his bonus how can he stay with this team? Reggie Bush, even with his own injury problems, is clearly the every week starter now and that should remain. McAllister can be a very good back-up but not at that price tag. Guess time will tell.
