Dead arm for Jorge

New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Wednesday on his ailing right shoulder. Posada has already missed a few starts this year for the Bombers, and left today’s game against the Kansas City Royals early due to the shoulder. According to Posada, his shoulder is “Dead, like you’ve got no strength.”

Team’s have been running like wild when Jorge’s in the game. The Royals alone today went 4 for 4 in steal attempts on him. Posada said, “I’m not 100 percent. I’m not helping the team out. It’s just as simple as that.” Kat O’Brien at Newsday.com mentioned that Posada sounded pretty worried while addressing the media.

Girardi said: “The ball’s just not coming out of his arm the way you’d like it to. … There’s a weakness there, and we need to get his arm strength to where it needs to be.” Jose Molina will start tomorrow’s game and should Posada need a DL stint then Chad Moeller will be called up as a reserve. Not a good sign for Yankees fans right now. At least we’re at .500 and not slumping like last year.
