Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank has been keeping contact with his former franchise QB Michael Vick while he serves his time in a federal prison. Blank has decided to talk to the media about those communications and give a glimpse into Vick’s current life. Whats he doing? Is he staying in shape? All questions only a Vick fan would want to know, cause personally who else cares.

Here are the things I’m glad about. Vick is with the general population, he’s being forced to do all the grunt work every prisoner has to do. Currently, he works in the kitchen and not as the chef, he’s clean-up crew. Vick is washing pots and pans, while making a whopping 12 cents an hour. Hopefully these tasks rotate and he’ll get bathroom cleanup or something even more degrading next.

Vick is unfortunately still playing football, but I guess even the guys in prison have to have some relax time to themselves. The Kansas penitentiary he is currently at, has a football team. And guess what, Michael Vick is the starting QB. FOR BOTH SIDES! “He is staying in shape,” Blank told The New York Daily News. “Apparently, there was a prison football team and he played quarterback for both sides.” No surprise there.

Even thou Blank and Vick exchange letters don’t expect to see him in a Falcons’ uniform when he’s released. When asked if he could ever see Vick returning to the Falcons, Blank said, “I don’t know that. Right now, he’s in a federal penitentiary.” But Blank also said “I told Michael I’ll do whatever I can to be helpful to him personally. Nothing to do with the Atlanta Falcons … He’s a human being and I would like to reach out and if I can be productive to him in some way, I would be happy to do that.”

Here’s a link to the NY Daily News and today’s article. It’s a pretty good read regardless of the person its about.
