It looks like Trent Dilfer’s career isn’t over after all. After being cut by the San Francisco 49ers it looked like the 36-year olds career was over. But of course the Oakland Raiders come to the rescue and show interest in Dilfer. Dilfer spoke today at his chuch, “Northside Christian Church” in Clovis, Califonia and told people that the Raiders have shown interest in him. The Fresno Bee, reported that some people in the church actually started to cheer.
So why would the Raiders be interested in ANOTHER quarter back? They have JaMarcus Russell, last years first pick, who should be the starter in 2008. They have Andrew Walter at back-up and there is still the possibility that Daunte Culpepper re-signs with the team. The team is nervous about Russell’s weight, as the last I’ve heard he’s starting to look the size of an offensive lineman. Even thou, why would they be interested in a 36-year old who just missed half of last season with a concussion.
Doesn’t make sense to me, but hey thats the Raiders for you. Here’s the article from the Fresno Bee.
