NFL Mock Drafts
Seattle’s conference NOT about Alexander.

Rumor has been running wild this afternoon that the Seattle Seahawks would be announcing the release of former Pro-Bowl RB Shaun Alexander. The reason for the rumor, an email from the ‘Hawks that there would be a 3:30pm EST press conference attended by Mike Holmgren and Tim Ruskell (both said to be unavailable for anything till after the NFL Draft. This would lead and did lead many to believe to the release of Alexander was coming. It wound up NOT to be the case, so what was the conference for?
The Seahawks held the conference to announce the signing of LB Lofa Tatupu. Tatupu was given a 6-year contract extension worth a little over $40 million, including $16 million in guaranteed money. Tatupu was a 2-round pick in the 2005 draft and has started every game so far in his professional career. Over the 3-year span he’s tallied 6.5 sacks, 337 combined solo and assisted tackles, 8 interceptions, 1 returned for touchdown and forced 5 fumbles. Tatupu is only 25 and should only keep getting better, great signing by the ‘Hawks.
Now don’t take this to mean thou that Seahawks will not be releasing Alexander. I’m quite sure that day is still coming.
